SCORE
SCORE

SCORE (Supporting Consumer Ownership in Renewable Energies) is a Horizon 2020 project, which facilitates co-ownership of renewable energy for consumers first in three pilot regions in Italy, Czech Republic and Poland - and later also in various other follower cities across Europe. SCORE particularly highlights the potential of this democratic participation model for the inclusion of women and low-income households. The participation of these under-represented groups as prosumers through financial empowerment is a core element in the fight against energy poverty.

DECIDE
DECIDE

DECIDE (Developing Energy Communities through Informative anD collEctive actions) is a Horizon 2020 project that aims to gain a better understanding of how energy communities and energy efficiency services are established and managed. It also intends to identify which kind of communications and interactions work best to encourage participation in energy communities for specific types of individuals and groups, and to test and transfer knowledge in pilot projects across Europe.

SONNET
SONNET

The Social Innovation in Energy Transitions project brings diverse groups together to make sense of how social innovation can bring about more sustainable energy systems in Europe. Six cities and six research institutions in Europe are using techniques – like ‘City Labs’, case studies, citizen surveys and more – to figure out how we can help make sure that social innovations accelerate the transition from the use of fossil fuels to a more sustainable energy system.

SMARTEES
SMARTEES

SMARTEES – Social Innovation Modelling Approaches to Realizing Transition to Energy Efficiency and Sustainability – is a transdisciplinary research project which aims to support the energy transition and improve policy design by developing alternative and robust policy pathways that foster citizen inclusion and take local peculiarities into account.

BEcoop
BEcoop

The ambition of BECoop (2020-2023), a project supported by the European Horizon 2020 programme, is to provide the necessary conditions, technical as well as business support tools, for unlocking the underlying market potential of community bioenergy, fostering new links and partnerships.

eCREW
eCREW

eCREW coordinates and supports the roll-out of an innovative scheme of household cooperation in energy management, addressing Community Renewable Energy Webs (CREWs), in which households jointly exploit household-level electricity generation and battery storage capacities and optimise energy efficiency and expenditures. Key purpose of CREWs is to support the transition of passive consumers to active participants in the local energy system through informed decisions and collective actions.

RENergetic
RENergetic

The goal of the RENergetic project is to demonstrate the improvement of efficiency and energy autarky, the community involvement in and the socio-economic viability of three urban energy islands:  The New Docks in Ghent (BE), the Warta Campus in Poznan (PL) and the Hospital and Research campus in Segrate-Milan (Italy). RENergetic empowers Renewable Energy Communities to inhabit Energy Islands based on an Economy of Quality (quality attributed to the value of living and working in a clean energy society), fueling their involvement in processes traditionally hidden for local communities such as heat supply.

COMPILE
COMPILE

The main objective of Compile (Horizon 2020) is to show how energy islands (microgrids) can help to further decarbonise our energy supply and how these islands can benefit from community building and create environmental and socioeconomic benefits. The building blocks of the project entail the empowerment of local energy systems, optimal integration of RES technology including storage, fostering the creation of energy communities and creating new ways that support the adoption of new technologies. REScoop.eu is developing a set of tools to help communities set-up and run microgrids including best practices reports, a stakeholder engagement guide and a guide on financing. REScoop.eu is also involved in the overall advocacy work centred around the Clean Energy Package and participates in the Bridge group.

ECCO
ECCO

Ecco aims to accelerate the set-up of new energy communities (so called Ecco’s) in rural areas in North-West Europe. We are doing that in close collaboration with farmer organisations. REScoop.eu develops tools and methodologies that can help farmers set-up and run an energy community. In addition, we are teaming up with the city of Leuven and the province of Vlaams-Brabant to roll-out the LICHT approach (community engagement) and further support the set-up of new community energy projects in Flanders.

Agro Fossil Free
Agro Fossil Free

Agro Fossil Free aims to show how farmers and the agricultural sector can benefit from innovative business models that help to mitigate climate change and how to decarbonise our economies. REScoop.eu will show how energy communities (and cooperatives) can retain money within the local community and feature different examples. REScoop.eu has a supporting role in different activities including the mapping of relevant actors and stakeholders, the overall communications and the policy work at the EU level.

EXCESS
EXCESS

The EXCESS project showcases how nearly-zero energy buildings can be transformed into positive energy buildings (PEB). Via four demo buildings spanning across four European Climate Zones (Nordic, Continental, Oceanic and Mediterranean), EXCESS seeks to test, validate and share PEB solutions with potential replicability across Europe. The four innovative demonstration projects are located in Belgium, Spain, Austria and Finland, and are introducing technical solutions that enable buildings to produce more renewable energy than they consume over the course of a year.

REScoop VPP
REScoop VPP

Through REScoopVPP (Horizon 2020) REScoop.eu will support the set-up of a community-driven virtual power plant that can actually provide flexibility services to the grid. REScoop.eu is a knowledge partner and in charge of the overall communication. We will organise workshops and manage a working group that gathers cooperatives that are interested in this topic.
